St. Mark's Episcopal Day School

Day School Programs

Daily Classes (8:30-12:30pm):

A day at St. Mark’s may include artwork, story time, dramatic play, Chapel, music, Gym Magic movement classes, nature walks in the Barton Creek Greenbelt, and plenty of outdoor fun on the playground.

Our integrated curriculum supports the development of language and communication, problem solving, group experiences, and sensory and motor skills. Low-key pre-reading and pre-math skills are introduced as the children become developmentally ready. This is done through story time, group reading and discussion, language experience charts, investigative experiences and problem solving.

Each child brings their own morning snack and a healthy lunch from home each day.

*Early Morning Program (7:30-8:30am):

Aimed at assisting families during busy mornings, St. Mark’s offers an early drop-off period for children. Children are offered some quiet time spent with other kids. Two staff members are present, and there is a maximum of 10 children allowed during this period.

*After School Programs (12:30-1:45pm):

Several enriching After School Classes are offered independently by members of the day school staff. There are 2-3 classes to choose from each day of the week. Class offerings include: Spanish, cooking, science/nature, music, keyboard, dance, hidden treasures, crazy clay, dramatic play and balls and games. Schedules and sign-up sheets for these classes are located on the bulletin board across from the Director's office.

Another after school option is the nap program. The nap program is offered every school day. This is a quiet period for those who nap or just need a rest from the day’s activities.

*Extended Care (2:00-3:45pm):

A relaxed curriculum which includes an afternoon snack and lots of free play for your child. Time is spent both indoors and outside on the school’s playground. This program is for children between the ages of 3 and 5, who are currently enrolled at St. Mark's and toilet trained.

*Early Morning and After School Programs can be reserved on a regular basis, or used daily as needed as available space allows.
